Effective working with intelligent solutions
In the opinion of Martin Steiner, operation sitemanager for packaging and production control, germs and contamination can be dispersed overall operation areas via the floor and thus cause(sometimes quite serious) foodstuff hygiene problems. In addition, dirty floors present a safetyrisk for the employees.Regular cleaning and good maintenance in adherenceto the prevailing laws on foodstuffs hygieneand accident prevention regulations not only protectemployees and consumers, they also contributeto the reduction of costs in the company. The situation at Danone is, as with many companiesin the food production industry, such that notonly the large surfaces need cleaning but also cornersand gaps between obstacles such as machinesand installations constantly have to be thoroughlycleaned. With the innovative cleaning system ST 82 S byHEFTER these requirements are all met in oneround. The VARIOTECH® technology adapts itself automaticallyto the different environments with itsflexible working width. It facilitates cleaning inareas where other systems cannot reach andreduces manual reworking to a minimum. Socleaning simply becomes faster and more effective."The working hours of our cleaning staff hasdecreased by 30% since we introduced the HEFTERSystems, " declares Mr Steiner, explainingthe benefits of the system.

User-friendliness and functionality

Frequently changing and sometimes inexperiencedemployees work in the cleaning departmentof Danone. Therefore, the HEFTER machine'sease of operation was a decisive factor inthe purchase. With a few manipulations, thesystem is ready to use and modifications such assetting up the suction lips are quickly made.In the so-called "white" areas, the sterile areas,no removal by suction is necessary since the disinfectionhas to sit for a certain time in accordancewith current hygiene regulations. In other"black" areas, greater emphasis is placed ongood removal by suction, because immediatesafe access has to be ensured. Once again, theHEFTER system satisfies with its excellent suctionperformance.Production at Danone is done in shifts and thecleaning system has to be available non-stop.Battery-powered systems can only work forapprox. three to maximum four hours, then theyhave to be recharged for eight hours. The HEFTER system is different - the QuickChange® battery change system ensures that afully charged battery set can be installed withinseconds and the cleaning continued withoutinterruption. Thus cleaning is possible in shifts ofup to 24 hours.
